La Escandella has achieved the highest indexes in the values demanded by worldwide standards for the quality control of clay roof tiles. La Escandella was the first non-French company to be AFNOR certified. Other approvals include AENOR (Spain), CERTIF (Portugal), and Germany´s EN 1304; Other international approvals include Australia, ICC-ES ASTM C-1167´s Grade 1 and Miami-Dade´s NOA (high wind velocity zone), both in the USA. Daily test are carried out in La Escandella laboratory and audited by external official laboratories to guarantee perfection throughout the manufacturing process.
The clays are carefully selected and stored for perfect preservation. The clay is dry atomised and that is the key to the quality and texture of our roof tiles. This process provides us with a clean clay, of unbeatable texture and even colour, without the impurities and chalk chips.
